The Regional Component carries out projects and programmes related to climate change. A multitude of outputs and outcomes have been realized in the three ACP regions through our Partners.
10 Regional Programmes, some of them currently in preparation, will focus on delivering the Programme’s six expected results:
Dedicated operational and institutional capacity in ACP regional organisations to support ACP countries in relation to climate negotiations and implementation of the Paris Agreement.
Regional and national climate change strategies contributing to the implementation of the Paris Agreement (including nationally determined contributions).
Replication and scaling up of pilot adaptation projects implemented and tested in ACP countries.
Intensified strategic dialogue and sharing of information, capacity and knowledge about climate action across southern countries and regions.
Strengthened provision of services by technical institutions, universities and regional centres in support of climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Innovative approaches for accessing and mobilising climate finance from the public and private sectors.
10 Regional organizations are partners with the Intra-ACP GCCA+ Programme:
Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)
