OACPS Leaders Meeting at COP26 – 1st November 2021
Troika of the Summit Meeting of OACPS Head of State and Government for Climate Action at COP26.
An OACPS Troika Leaders Meeting for Climate Action at COP26, is scheduled to take place on 1 November 2021, at 11h (GMT), in Glasgow, United Kingdom, under the chairmanship of the OACPS President in Office of the Summit, President of Kenya, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta.
The purpose of this meeting is to enable the OACPS to speak with one strong voice and urge immediate responses to the Climate Crisis by raising ambition, which requires global solidarity and climate action. Indeed, the 79 Members and 6 Regions of the OACPS, are amongst the most vulnerable to the increasing threats, impacts and consequences of Climate Change.
Following the meeting, the “OACPS Leaders Statement for Climate Action at COP26” will be released.
OACPS Leaders or their delegated Representatives will also gather later during the day at a dinner sponsored by the OACPS President in Office of the Summit, President of Kenya, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel. This will be another opportunity for OACPS Leaders to reinforce OACPS’ collective political leadership and solidarity and advance Member States’ priorities for Climate Action at COP26.
