COP25 side event: ACP-EU Ministerial Working Lunch
“ACP-EU Ministerial Working Lunch”.
ACP and EU Ministers met over lunch on Friday 13 December 2019 from 12:30 to 14:30, at the EU Pavilion, in Madrid, Spain.
Building on their long-standing cooperation for sustainable development, their coordinated approach that helped deliver the Paris Agreement in 2015 and their Joint ACP-EU Declaration on Climate Change of 2018, ACP and EU Governments explored further collaboration on how to fulfill shared climate goals.
OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of this side-event were:
- To identify shared priorities in addressing climate change.
- To better understand and support each other as we are entering into “the year of climate ambition” from COP25 to COP26.

The Ministerial lunch highlighted common messages such as increased ambition, the need for investments in resilience building and transforming countries’ economies towards green solutions.
The lunch was well attended and participants included ministers, ambassadors, and regional organisations.
